Papers, include correspodnence and scrapbooks. The correspondence, 1892, 1895, and 1905-1906, includes letters to Peters, Saginaw (Mich.), concerning land for a new high school and some construction problems. Also included is an envelope, a list of bids for construction, and a school building plan, undated. The scrapbooks include: v. 1, 1883-1897, v. 2, 1892-1893, and v. 3, 1892-1894. V. 1 includes newspaper clippings, correspondence, published reports, specifications, laws, and proceedings of organizations concerned about roads. Publications include Michigan Good Roads, 1896, County Road Law (of Michigan), 1893, and the Annual Report of the Saginaw Board of Trade, 1896. V. 2-3 include newspaper clippings related to education and schools, and the dedication program and floor plans of East Side Saginaw High School, which was dedicated on Feb. 22, 1894. The scrapbooks are all dark green with a design in the corners of the covers. They all have some damage to the spines. The contents and pages of the scrapbooks, except for some of the publications, is acidic.

Peters was a Saginaw (Mich.) Commissioner, a partner in Seemann and Peters, Secretary of the Saginaw County Farmers' Club, and Chairman of the Committee on Roads of the [East] Saginaw Board of Trade. (The papers of Seemann and Peters are also housed in the Clarke Historical Library.) William B. Baum (Jan. 23, 1856- ) served as a Mich. Rep. from the 1st District [Saginaw County], 1893-1894.
